Wolves

Here are a little family of Grey Wolves, friends for the Foxes...

Also for sale in my Folksy shop.

I love Foxes!

I think Foxes are under rated and sadly seem to get a lot of bad press, especially in fairy tales! I think they are in fact, beautiful creatures, so in honour of the fox I decided to make some. These are all available in my Folksy shop.

This weeks Vintage finds

Remember my JAG Harvest pattern casserole dish..? Well this time I came across a round one in a charity shop, to go with it. Unfortunately this one is missing its lid, but I still think they look nice on my shelf together.

This weeks Vintage finds

A Kirkham Pottery condiment pot found in a charity shop, complete with its little wooden stand, this dates from the 1950's.

Lovely Johnson Brothers 'Snow White' coffee cups and saucers and matching milk jug, I already had the one side plate, so it was nice to find some more of the same pattern on a stall at a Craft and Vintage fair that Lucy loo's had stall at yesterday. This particular Vendor had an abundance of other fab retro items, it was so difficult to resist buying anything else!

Craft Fair in Cardiff

Well, I've had a busy week this week, preparing for a Vintage and Handmade Fair in Cardiff that took place Yesterday. It was a fab day and I was so pleased that I sold a couple of the cushions that I've been making recently, including two I'd only finished the day before! I also got a chance to look around at all the Vintage goodies on offer and spotted these Johnson Brothers 'Snow White' coffee cups and saucers and a sweet little milk jug. I already had one Plate which I have on display in my kitchen, so it was nice to find some other things things to match it.

Lucy loo's will be a bit closer to home this coming Saturday, in Pontypridd in the local YMCA. A newly formed group called 'Positively Ponty' will be staging their first Craft Fair, in order to promote Arts and Crafts in the surrounding area. If it is a success it could be a regular thing, which would be handy for me as its only down the road, so fingers crossed!

Foxy Loxy

Here is a little bag I made last week, I've had the handles hanging around for a while and finally got around to making the bag to go with them! I love foxes and think that they get a very bad press, especially in fairy tales, so I've put one on my bag and when he needs to hide there are trees on the other side so he can disappear back into the woods.

The Owl and the ...Rabbit!

I've just finished this cushion order for an Owl and a Rabbit and I'm really pleased with the way they turned out. I'm taking orders for these and you can choose your own colour scheme as I have lots of beautiful Vintage florals in other colours.

Vintage book love

I love Vintage books, especially Children's books from the fifties and sixties, with their quirky and colourful illustrations. This is one that my husband found whilst clearing out the attic in his childhood home. After doing a little bit of detective work I discovered that it dates from a around 1940, but I cannot find much out about the illustrator Alfred Wood. It has the most beautiful illustrations though and the colours are still really bright and vivid.

Butterfly

Have Just finished this cushion for my friend Karin, who's gorgeous little girl Lauren has Down's Syndrome.  She suggested
that I make something with a blue and yellow butterfly on it, as it is one of their the emblems, so I decided to have a go, giving it a Lucy loo's twist, of course! I'm making these to order and will be donating 10% of my sales to the Welsh Down's Syndrome Association, regardless of the colour scheme. Details on my Lucy loo's facebook page. ( :

Today's Vintage finds

Two finds today..First of all these really sweet little Anchor Hocking, Fire King bowls, also known as custard cups, that I found in my local Banardo's. The design is called Green Meadow, which I discovered today after doing a little bit of research. Next these lovely Simpsons Country Harvest Ware 'Orange Tree' side plates. I love the design, so my plain green Ikea plates have been put away, as these definitely make a brighter more interesting alternative and they go with my orange kitchen too!

Today's Vintage find...

I haven't posted any of my Vintage finds for a long while and there have been many, though I do admit to ebay being responsible for some of them, naughty me! There's nothing better than coming across something the old fashioned way though, in a charity shop for example or a jumble/bric a brac sale. So here is my latest retro treasure a 'Harvest' patterned pyrex casserole dish, manafactured by JAJ, found in my local 'Air Ambulance' shop. It dates from the early 70's.

Trees

Have just finished listing these Vintage fabric tree cushions in my Folksy shop, just in time for Easter. There are three different colour combinations, all very different I think you'll agree. I would love to make some more, but have a few other projects that I want to complete first, I all ways have so much swimming around in my head that I want to do!

I'm going to be spending Easter with my family here in South Wales, Nana and Grampa will be paying a visit too this weekend, so we shall all look forward to spending time with them too.
